I have had my wisteria tree for approximately 8 years. The vines flourish no problem, but I have never had a bloom on the tree. I have been reading what to do to help coax it to bloom. I have read to fertilize it in the Spring with high phosphorus fertilizer. Since it is currently the end of July, is it too late for the year to fertilize, or can I go ahead and fertilize now? I also read about pruning the tree. I have read a couple suggestions. One says to prune in August (to w/ in 7 buds of main curved branches) and January (to further shorten to 3 buds) Another suggestion is to prune often. So somewhat conflicting. What do you recommend considering it has not bloomed in 8 years? Also I read about root pruning in late fall to help stimulate vines to blossom. Any recommendations you have to my questions would be helpful!
Thank you!
