I currently have small holes that appeared in the trunk and a gummy sap oozes. And now in the growing season some leaves and branches are dying and turning brown. I found that thses Borers attacked when my tree was weakened by Black Cherry amphids. I have been able to provide it with enough water but not sure which fertilizer to give it. I also learned that there are two types of borers, a Shothole Borer and a Peachtree Borer, Not sure which one it is. What I do know is that they create tunnels that interfere with the flow of water and nutrients within the tree. I also know that there is some type of insecticide designed to kill these Borers and would like to know what kind of insecticide will work. My unserstanding is that it is very difficult to rid these suckers for good..
