I pulled up a baby Rose of Sharon under my bush. I know that it came from the seeds falling off last years blooms. However, this morning i pulled a 4 inch tall "baby" plant. The root was thicker and older looking than I would have expected. Also, attached to the root was something that resembled a large Chick Pea. It was approx. 3/4 inch tall and about 1.5 to 2 inches in circumferance. Is this natural to the Rose of Sharon plant, or did the root just get entangled with some other seed? I have never seen anything like this and I have been gardening in ernest for the past 20 years or so. I hope you have an answer for me. Marshon Donley
