What kind of worms eat okra plants

Question

Started a new okra garden from seeds in the beginning of June. I live in South Louisiana and had no visible pest problems until now. The okra are just starting to appear, I check them daily, and today the leaves are infested with what I think are black cutworms. I don't know what to think because the research I've done says they normally attack young tender plants, and mostly at the stalk, but these are eating the leaves and are out during the day, and appeared almost overnight in a bad infestation. What are they & what do I do?

You can use Bayer vegi spray to control these. I have seen ant raise aphids on okra and japanese beetles but not many other insects bother it. Bayer does work good though.
