We have planted a garden for the first time this year and although most of what we planted is above ground, like cucumbers and beans, we also have radishes and onions that grow below ground. My question is, how will we know when the radishes are ready to be pulled and eaten? I don't want to repeatedly pull them up randomly just to see if they are ready or we will run out of them before they grow. Any tips?

Radishes tend to peek out of the ground.  By that I mean that the top of the actual radish pops through the soil and you can see the size of it at the base of the green leaves.  If it looks plump and round, you can figure it's ready to pull; if it looks skinny, it needs to do some growing still.  Hope this helps!

If you leave them radishes in the ground too long....they get very hot to taste.....then you have to wash them and grate them....add vinegar oil & water salt & pepper and use like a side dish.............
