The coating of grey dust is evenly distributed throughout the underside of the leafs. It is not in spots or bloches. There is a little coating the top side of the leafs, but it is spaced further apart and does not look like any pictures I've seen of scale insects. The humidity has been fairly low since the furnace has started running. Although I had been running the humidifiers, it is still fairly dry. The pineapple I purchased at the grocery store was kept in a dry location, and the fruit was the perfect ripeness. I twisted the leafy top of to dry for a house plant. The leafs are all firmly intact. Should I keep it or throw it out?
