The stems are long and close to the soil. They seemto root where the leaves touch the ground, but I am not sure about this. The leaves are sort of thick similar to a jade plant but with points. The leaves grow in an alternating sequence on the stems. The blossoms are at the end of the stems and are deep orange in new one and deepen to red as they mature. The centers are yellow. The blossoms open around late morning and close around late afternoon. They are about the size of a quarter and have about 4 or 5 petals and the blossom is shaped like a cup. It is very prolific.
The stems deepen to a deep red and light green as they grow.
