I have tomatoes that r rotting on the vine what can I do to stop it and what coses it?

I have 12 big tomato plants that I am having problems with they r rotting from the bottom they r doing it b4 they even turn red. They r doing it at all sizes to.

sounds like too much water or raining at the wrong times....................you can make green fried tomatoes.....tomatoes pickled..................take some off before they turn red...like the orange tone....let them ripen up under your porch on a table.. we had that problem 2 years ago and it spread thru the garden some kind of spore.  I only use soap water of food products.  next year put lime in your soil and mix some old hay in it.  we planted and put down newspaper and put grass over it.....kept down a lot of bugs.  and the ground was always damp.
