prepare the ground with composted horsemanure, lime, hay, straw, old grass and leaves, mix it with a tiller...............then plant the tubers have to have eyes...............you can do that yourself...............by letting them sit out........or buy ready made to plant. You can plant in mounds or in the ground eye up any roots down. Put hay sprinkled on top that will keep the weeds out and you can find them after the tops die down. When digging them up just brush off the dirt, don't wash until ready to use. They do well stored in a cold cellar or root cellar.............onions will keep the mice away during winter storage........
