How do I treat root rot?

I have an outdoor cala lilly plant. The stems and leaves are turning yellow and limping then they turn brown and dry out and die. I suspect root rot. How can I treat this problem?

so it's probably a fungus.................on a sunless or when the sun goes down...with no wind......mix 2 1/2 tablespoons of 3% medical hydrogen peroxide in 1 gallon of water spray them...the ground.....use it all................you can not save this.....wear old clothes, mask, gloves, hat & goggles............keep children & animals away until this is dry.

I tried this and it seems to have helped somewhat. I also removed dead leaves and added some plant food spikes into the ground. Then I watered with a bottle of sparkling water to give the plant lots of CO2. It is perking up and tiny new sprouts are evident. I think I will buy a bag of soil enhanced with Miracle Grow too. Thanks for your helpful tip.
