Can Chipmunks be stopped from eating all my plums off the tree?

Chipmunks or tree squirrels cannot be easily  stopped. The only solution I know is to make sure the branches are a couple of feet from the ground and there is no easy jumping point nearby like a fence that alows them to jump onto the tree. Couple this with a chimeny of sheet metal tied looseley around the trunk.  Then when you have time watch to see that they arent getting around your barrier. Bird netting around the tree would probably help also. In fact try the netting first and observe the results.

I just saw that someone used a fake snake at the bottom of the tree 3 or 4 ft long.....also some one else mixed up an egg mix & 1 gallon of water and sprayed the tree..............also you could use ground black pepper in little cloth bags and hang them on the tree..........
