My roma tomatoes started having bottom rot but recovered as they matured. However, the leaves shriveled up and fall off. What can I do to help the plants?

It sounds like calcium deficiency try adding a calcium supplement like egg or oyster shells. Neptune's from a gardening center works well.

Could be a leaf fungus such as  Botritis.  I had about the same thing last year, and nothing I did helped except to take the big shade leaves off.  They are not needed anyway and that let the air and light thtough. I got a fine crop of tomatoes anyway.

I found that the Cottonwood and Popular trees had the same thing. Bad fungus year in Western Wa. in 2013.

Good luck!

Take off the dead leaves cleaning the knife each cut and super clean before using again.  Could be a fungus or tiny bugs.  When some leaves start again mix up 1 teasp liquid hand wash soap and 1 qt water and spray stem & leaves even tomatoes.  We had trouble 2 years ago when everything got this fungus after a big storm.  We had to take everything off and trash the plants to keep the fungus at bey.

in the fall use a lot of lime and then cow or horse manure and turn the soil, put the tomatoes in another area of the garden
