How do I get rid of worms on parsley plants?

I have green and black worms on my parsley plants.  They seem to come back every year.  They eat the leaves of the plant.  I usually just pick them off and squish them.  Is there a way to keep them off?

Try buying some diatomaceous earth at the nursery and circling the plant of the row of plants.  D.E. is organic.  It's tiny fossils that have sharp edges.  I use it for snails and slugs-tears up their underside and they die.  It should work the same way for anything that crawls on the ground.

after the sun passes over..........mix 1 teasp of liquid soap & 1qt of water & mix & spray.  I grow parsley every year but I have a trick up my sleeve.......take one clay pot that is empty turn it over, put the parsley on top of the 2nd pot  and they have stayed away from my parsley..........this year we put an outside shelf outside one of the bedroom windows, were we can water it but they can't get to it.  They also do not like sand......you could try putting that around on the ground....around the plant
