Why would my peaches stop growing before they are ready for harvest?

My peaches have stopped growing and its early in season, They are small , They were doing well when they started.

A weather change could be one reason.  Be patient.

If it is a young tree with a huge amount of fruit I'd remove some of the fruit.  they can't grow when bunched together.  We use the following rule of thumb-no pun ended.  Mak a fist and place it against one side of the fruit.  If there is other fruit with in a hand's width, remove it to give what you leave on the branch room to grow.  A younger tree will only support just so many pieces of fruit.

We are having the same problem this year.......too much rain.

There are probably too many on the tree. Thin it down to at least 1 every 6 inches.
