How do I strengthen rhubarb soil

Question

We are in Florida and trying to transplant our Michigan rhubarb. The soil here is mostly sand. What should I add to nourish the rhubarb

Up in Pa they grow with dirt mix soil............PH test might be needed should be 5.5 to 7.0.......we put old horse manure over them when they died back.............we also use lime in the spring............I am going to have to refer you to the internet as they are saying that it is difficult to grow in Florida.

You also might need some soil bought at the garden store to add with the sand probably needs morning sun after partial shade because of the heat in Florida.

if you are a fisherman any remenants left after cleaning fish put into a newspaper wrap and bury near plant roots (the best ever-Grampa R) - at least 3 inches or so from main stem -  add any other compost material such as leaves, twigs, etc.
