Someone gave me a seedling, Rose of Sharon, the other day and I'm afraid if I put it out in the yard it won't have time to get big enough to survive the first frost, which sometimes come well before Halloween. Any ideas on this? The little plant has leaves and looks good, just small. It's about 10 inches high, and I have it sitting on my front porch on a table. Do I dare to set it out, or do I keep it in the pot, in the house until Spring?
