I have some tomatoes that look like somebody took a big bite out of them & the bite is on the bottom close to the ground & sometimes around in back. I know it is not Tomato horn Worm. The vines are untouched plus there are no droppings or no sign of Horn worms. I put down boards with pieces of potatoes under them, Oatmeal & covered the tomaoes with a layer of soapy water (thinking it might be slugs). No slugs. The only tomatoes affected are ones that are ripe or almost ripe. I am thinking it might be a rodent (Vole , Mole or Mouse). I did see something about the size of a Mouse scurrying under my Potato vines this morning. At first I thought it was a frog, but it could have been a rodent. Do you think thats a good diagnosis? What is the best way to treat them?
Thanks,
Paul
