I'm in north Texas, just south of Denton, the plant itself came from Fort Worth, where wild grapes cover alot of trees. The leaves are smooth on top and veined on bottom, the vine produces same tendrills as common grapes and the growing and fruiting pattern is similar to that normal grapes. I do not believe I have ever come across this variety of plant before. I grew it back after the shock of tranfer and had set a trellis for support; the very small flowers that budded which later produced a small pea sized violet waxy fruit in a cluster. But most had died off or eaten by pest save for two berries. When I checked the firmness they were mushy so squeezed one. White like milky juice, an a seed the size of a beebe was inside. Now I am questioning whether it is a grape at all. More noticibly I recognized a smell that I have associated with poisonous plants. What type a plant might this be? The leaves are green, no burgondies or other colors present during the groing season. As mentioned earlier there is no fuz on the leaf. I found what I thought to be a wild Muscadine grape.
