when do I harvest rhubarb

we have rhubarb growing and I always let it go to seed because I dont know what to do can someone give me some advice on when to cut it to make a pie?

sounds like you have had this for over 3 years.....................so when the stalks are red............cut every other one.................wash cup & cook..................most people mix strawberry's with it for a pie.  It is going to need sugar.  I have to search for a recipe.

Pull Rhubarb stalks from the base of the stalk.  Pull as soon as stalks are red and at leeast 6 inches in height.  Pull most of ready to use rhubarb from the plant and the rest of the plant will get more food from the root.  Wash Rhubarb, usually cut into inch pieces, and follow intructions on the recipe you choose.
