I recently transplanted a 4 foot sago palm from front to back yard here in Gulf Shores... I watched a video on You Tube which encouraged me mostly with the comment..... sago's are very hard to kill... Wear long sleeves and a tough set of gloves.... Trim back the limbs, leaving the top two or three layers.... The roots are many but not too deep or long, the toughest part is dealing with the thorny and sharp saga limbs.... after getting it loose I wheel barreled it to new location, buried it at about the same depth it was.....I soaked the newly planted area...... I could never tell the plant had any reaction to the move, including the recent freezing weather...
