We live in NE PA and zone 5a everything drops off here for the winter. They do well as a hedge...........You can take clipping in the spring and put them right in the ground about 1 ft apart. We used a drill bit to make the holes and walked along them pushing the cut ends in pushing the dirt around them with a stick and watering them as we went................they all came up...............they will grow very tall if you let them, we use them along the road frontage to keep the dust down around the front porch.
