Hello. I was wondering if there was such a thing as a tomato that could be grown successfully in the winter? I am in Zone 6b; we tried some hydroponic experiments with tomatoes but had no luck. We want to return to some type of outdoor soil gardening, which would be cheaper to do, but now it's too late to start warm-weather loving plants like these unless indoors again.
Do you have any idea what type of tomatoes, if any, could withstand cold temperatures, and what type of environment we need to give them (I'm sure that wanting ones that stand near-freezing temps would be asking too much). Thanks in advance for any information you can find. Have a great day.
