I live in New Mexico and have a plant in my courtyard for years with no trouble. It is a perennial with small leaves and it shoots out an elongated branch with pinkish flowers which our humming birds love. We noticed white "spit" like globs at the leaf junctures on numerous places. My husband hosed it off and today it's back. What is it and how to I get rid of it? The only note I can add is that we have had an unusual amout of rain recently, but other than that, nothing has changed that I'm aware of. THANKS!
