I have a maple tree in my front yard that is healthy looking except for mushrooms growing on the exposed roots. I tried pulling them all up, and throwing them away (meaning, I didn't leave them nearby to reproduce). Five days later, I noticed that they had grown back and were bigger than before. We had a lot of rain for much of the summer, but its been dry for at least two weeks now.
This tree is at least 20 years old and is a great location to give shade to my house. I'm worried that the roots are decaying. Any suggestions as to how I can help save this tree? Or am I worried for nothing?
