Soil pH 6.6 to 7.2 okay but acidity is preferred. Water young plants weekly if no measurable rain. Plants can grow to maturity of 8 ft by 8 ft. so plan according for spacing. Full sun best by partial shade would be okay. First 3 years need growth so a balanced N,P,K fertilizer will work. Soil test will help determine amount of fertilizer. Organic or non. Weeds need to be controlled or they will slow growth of aronia plants. Mulch can be used to help control weeds. Spacing between plants: hand harvesting 6 ft or 8 ft but if mechanical 4ft to 6 ft works very well for a hedge. Between rows for width hand harvesting 10 ft to 12 ft; mechanical 14 ft, 15 ft or 16 ft. Bushes will start production 3 rd year with full production on 4th or 5th year. My 10 yr. old plants averaged 30lbs per bush but had 30 plus canes per plant. So you need growth and height to get big yields.
These plants need some chill factors so can go dorminate. May not be best to grow these if they can not go dorminate. Are winter hardy. Here in Iowa -35 degrees with not winter kill canes.
Need to prune after 4th year to keep fruiting zone managable. Older canes lose productive yield after 5th year so cut out old 1 inch canes from center and work way out each year after that and new renewal canes will come up as replacement.
