what to do when apples trees have worms in apples.

Its a mature tree, that has had nothing done with it for 2 years. When we bought the place the tree had big juicy apples, now they are smaller & fall off easily. Not sure what kind of apple it is. We live in AB.

If worms are inside the apple it usually is where the seeds are....you could cut all of the center out and make applesauce.....keep the skins on for color....scrub them real good..........after the tree has dropped it leaves you need to spray dormant oil in late fall............and again in the spring......up to the bud comes on the tree.....then I only spray the trunk.  Read the directions carefully, wear long old clothes, mask, hat, gloves and goggles.  Keep children & pets away until dry.  Do not spray if it is going to rain.  Do not spray if it is windy.  Good luck with your apple tree.  In the spring you probably need to lime all of those trees and do old horse manure in a ring

If you are not spraying your apple tree for coddling moth that is the culprit.  Your local nursery will have the proper spray and can tell you when to spray.
