I just lost a 12 ft Acacia and also a 12 ft California Pepper because of Root Worms. I had never heard of Root Worms before. I bought these two trees10 months ago. They did beautiful. It seemed these trees died within a few days without warning. There were a few days of dried dead leaves and then they were totally dead! My Landscape man diagnosed the problem. He did put some powder down that he said would also protect my other backyard trees and shrubs. So far everything looks good.I would like to know how long it took the worms from the first bite to the last to kill my trees? Is this going to be a problem with all of my plantings in the future?
I live in Mesa, Az where the temp is very hot. I bought these trees from a local well known nursery. They planted them and staked them.
