I have a small bush, approximately 3.5 feet high and starting to sprawl out this year to an area approximately 10 feet wide. It has woody looking stems with large (about the size of an adult hand) leaves. Small clusters of what appear to be raspberries growing since mid-July, some rotted before looking ripe. The ripe ones come off very easily and are very delicate, like you can't really wash them, they are also so small not looking like commercial raspberries. This is growing alongside the start of a small forest stand of trees at the edge of my property in Kahnawake, Quebec just outside the island of Montreal. I tried to eat some last week and not sure if it made me sick, I have no known food allergies and I've eaten lots of berries in my lifetime. Are these true raspberries? Help.
