Should I prune my cucumber plants?

I have a large healthy burpless cucumber growing on a trellis -- tons of green leaves and blossoms... no cucumbers yet.  We've had a lot of rain lately, and the leaves at the bottom have gone yellow and brown -- I've clipped them off.  Should I pinch back/prune the tops of the plants to help them fill back out or encourage blossoms?

Ours were late blooming this year.  For next year, you might need some old horse manure & mulch with a little lime mixed into the soil after this years crop if finished.  Things should be better next year.

PH should be 6.0 to 8.0..........................did you test the soil...................did you mix horse manure & lime in before you planted.........................
