how do you keep small snails from eating plants, in Florida?

I live in south west Florida near the bay, and my plants are often eaten by small snails. Will dusting my plants with sulfur keep them away or kill them?

Going to give you a list of what I have found that other people are using.......crushed egg shells, DE, chickens or ducks, turtles, Sluggo,  Escar-go, coffee grounds, equal paarts of vinegar & water, corn meal in a container turned sideways and disgard...or a used cat can submerced in the ground and fill it with old beer. Or you could use chop sticks and pick them up and drop them in warm soapy salt water and flush them.

You can buy snail bait at any Garden store --- even Walmart. Sprinkle it around the plants. It will not eliminate them completely, but will make a big dent in their population..

You could also put some lime on them, wear gloves.  It dries them out.
