What is the best way to freeze fresh corn on the cob? Should I cut the corn off the cob first? Do I need to blanche it before freezing?

I have frozen the whole corn cob and also cut the kernels off and just froze them.  Some people par boil them first.  I prefer to just freeze it.  My friend freezes it with the husk on.  She says it helps protect the kernels from freezer burn.  She husks when she's ready to use it.  I haven't tried this yet.

corn on the cob can be frozen but the cob flavor gets into it. Steam it for about three minutes until it is half cooked. If you do not the corn will spoil. when cooled place in frreezer bags.  Do not let it get water logged or you will get nothing but cob flavor.
