What is attacking my crimson barberry bushes

Every year the plants look great and then the branches get some covering on them in places-possibly a web or something like that-help what should I use to get rid of it?

Could be spder mites.  Try a strong stream of water from the hose.  Spray from the bottom up and under the leaves too.  Do this once or twice a day for a few days.
