How do I tell when concord grapes are ripe and ready to pick?  Also, what time of year do they usually ripen.  I live in NC

when the green grapes get real fat and turn dark purple.........try one...you will know...the skins are bitter but inside is sweet.

purple grapes with bitter skins but inside is white with seeds and very sweet...best just to try one....you will know for sure when you smell the mother skunk with her babies following her one by one to pick up the ones that have dropped to the ground
