Our peach tree is over 30 years old. Much of the old growth has been pruned away and fruit is growing on newer branches. This year, the peaches were no larger than an apricot. Is it natural for fruit to be stunted as the tree ages? We have a neighbor that we know has poisoned and killed one of our rose bushes in the past. Would poison cause this stunted growth?

I would test the soil for PH...............should be 6.0-8.0...................We trim every spring, very old horsemanure in the fall and lime in the spring............tree should be sprayed with dormant oil mixed with water & spray until the buds come..once they open only spray the trunk.  We need the bees for the buds...........then in the fall do dormant oil again after the leaves fall off........We have trouble with deer so we have a 6 1/2' fence around some of our fruit.........each year we will add on to it................
