I have found the only way to keep the bugs away is to plant the things they don't like petunia's, marigolds, or trap plants

after the sun goes down.....have ready 1 teasp liquid hand soap and 1 qt water.......mix & spray.

They have special beetle bag traps at Walmart  that you put down wind.  Has special male bait that attracts the females.  They bags are green & white and the female go in and don't come out.  when the bag gets too heavy replace it........tie the other one off and lay it in the sun to let them die off and then double bag and tie it and trash them.
