when can you replant a tulip bulb that has already bloom?

I am in growing zone 8. Found the bulb in the northern part of United States. Kept moist and in dirt on my travels back to the South.

From my experience all you will need to do is cut the greenery off and find where you want to have plenty of flowers coming up and plant your bulb in potting soil 3-4 inches with head up.  Make sure you have plenty of space around where you plant your bulb, it will split before coming up and make more and the longer in the ground the more bulbs you will have. Spread like wildfire. Water after planting. ENJOY YOUR BEAUTY
