I am getting ready to bake a fresh cherry pie and have leftover cherries.  needing to know if I can freeze them and if so, do I still pit them or leave the pits in?

Yes you can freeze cherries!  Wash well, pit if desired, put in an appropriate freezer container and freeze. They taste great as a treat right out of the freezer. They will be darker and juicy when defrosted but still very tasty. I wouldn't leave them in the freezer for more than 3 months. Hope that help!
