how long does it take a coconut to ripen off the tree

i have 4 green coconuts from trees from work and i would like to know how to ripen them or will they rot not being on the trees

If the coconuts were left on the tree it would take normally about a year to ripen; since they were plucked from the tree, it should only be about 20 to 23 days to ripen, give or take a few days. -Birdy
