i am wanting to transplant my ramona clematis in the state of tennessee when is the best time

I live in middle tenn, and am wanting to move my clematis from full sun to a place that has more than 6 hours of sun but need to know in what mo of the year is best to do this

Best time to move plants is fall to late fall after the leaves drop.

I forgot to mention that the roots like it cool like under a porch.......and the flower will grow towards a sunny area............I started out with 3 and the deer ate them down into the ground....3 years later this beautiful one started behind the forsythia against the porch...lavendar
